John's Garage Doors

What is the typical lifespan of a garage door spring?

Garage door springs are designed to last a certain number of cycles. As you approach or exceed this number, the spring starts to break down. When a garage door spring breaks, there's a good chance you will have trouble getting your garage door to open (or at least it will be a lot more difficult).

Unless your garage door has springs specifically designed to be long-lasting, on average, springs will typically wear out after 10,000 cycles. This means they could be used for up to six to ten years.

However, with the increase in the use of attached garages, many people are using their garages to come in and out of their homes, which increases the frequency at which they open and close their garage doors. This translates into your garage door springs having a shorter lifespan.

Unfortunately, it often seems that springs break and garage doors have problems at the most inconvenient times for homeowners!

The good news for anyone in the Tucson area is that you have John's Garage Doors on your side!
